As an academic, Dr. Gillian Mayes has written various journal articles, reports, reviews and has had a book published on child welfare and safety. She has been writing since she was a child and has had several stories published including in ‘New Writing Scotland’ and ‘thi wurd’ literary magazine and has been published on the website www.glasgowwestend.co.uk

Gillian completed the MLitt in Creative Writing at the University of Glasgow. She had a regular fiction column in ‘The Herald’ a few years back and is currently looking for a publisher for her first novel. Gillian has read her writing at Literary Lates, the West End Festival and at the University of Glasgow, Centre for Open Studies’ Creative Writing Student Showcase.
